Frisbeer 2015 - useful info

Only couple days left until the great winter feast of freestyle frisbee in Prague. We can’t wait and I think you can’t, too.  Frisbeer Cup 2015 is almost here and in the following text you can find everythink important to know…

THE WEEK BEFORE FRISBEER

If you arrive to Prague earlier than on Friday and you are interested in jamming, sightseeing or meeting other people who are already in Prague, Irena is your person! Contact her on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/irena.kulisanova?fref=ts) or on her cellphone (+ 420 728 861 934). Rumor is that there will be an outdoor jam at National Theatre on Thursday afternoon.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

When you arrive to Prague (and BEFORE you go to jam/dinner) please go directly to the apartments and register there - pay for your stay and get the keys. You need to register on the reception before 20:00. If won't be able to make it, please call + 420 724 372 471. We have been asked for this by the apartment management so please respect it.

 

FRIDAY JAM AND DINNER

As usually, jamming action starts on Friday. We are going to start with and outdoor jam between 3 and 4 PM at the National Theatre jamspot. Around 6:30 we are going to move to the gym on Náměstí Jiřího z Lobkovic (inflated tennis court - same as last year).

Directions

National Theatre Jamspot (15 - 18:30)

Many of you already know where it is, for those who don’t there are some directions:

You can get there by going to station Narodni divadlo by many various trams (for example number 6, 9, 18, 22) or going to metro station Narodni trida (yellow line) and then walk there. Don’t go there by the car :)

GYM (19 - 21:00)

If you go by car, use GPS and enter the following address: Namesti Jiriho z Lobkovic 22/121.

If you go by public transport, go to the metro station „FLORA“ (green line). From there it is a 5 minutes walking distance (see the map below).

DINNER

We need to finish at the gym at 21:00 and than we will move to nearby restaurant called Na Krizovatce which is located just few steps from the FLORA Metro station. Check out the map above. Here you can check out the menu.

SATURDAY – SCHEDULE

Saturday‘s schedule is going to be tight again, so please arrive to the gym on time. Below you can find the schedule. Mixed pairs semifinals is tentative for now. If there are 6 teams (currently registered) we are going to play only the final round on Sunday. If there are more then 6 teams (more probable scenario), we are going to play semis on Saturday starting at 11 AM.

SATURDAY PARTY = CROSS CLUB

Legendary Cross Club again, yeah!!! After we finish at the gym you go take a quick refresh to the apartments and then head into the arms of the night :) There is no organized dinner but we suggest you to go straight to the Cross Club, where they cook various dishes (pizza, burgers, sandwiches, czech cuisine etc.) until midnight. Check out the menu (only in Czech language, use translator). You will also find some tips for other restaurants along the way in your booklet.

SUNDAY

Sunday will be generaly more relaxed than Saturday so you will have more time to jam and to drink some beer (we will have 3 kegs for the weekends so we should not run out of beer even on Sunday afternoon ;))

HOW TO GET AROUND PRAGUE

In Prague there is a thick network of public transport so you can get around quite easily. The tickets are valid for all kinds of transport (metro, trams, buses) and you can transfer with them. You can get them in news-stands and similar shops, from the machines inside the metro (always above the escalators) or at the info-centres (https://www.dpp.cz/en/list-of-info-centres/).

For the short ride (less then 30 minutes, for example from the apartments to the gym) you can buy ticket for 24 CZK. For longer rides (up to 90min) buy ticket for 32 CZK. To be sure and aviod problems we recommend alwyas to buy the ticket for 32 CZK. You can also buy a 3-day ticket for advantageous price. You can get it only at the info-centres (there are two directly at the airport, check out the link above).
